I bit the bullet, and now I am on the "Karoo Pro 1" package, expecting a significant improvement in speed, only to find that at around noon the connection is castrated at 1,966kbps!

Is this normal? Sometimes I reach 6000kbps, but this is getting ridiculous, I’m aware of the “up to” nonsense, but I assume the folks at Karoo wouldn’t be impressed if I paid around 8% of my bill to reflect the speeds I am getting down their line.

As a side note, I'm also living at a house near York, with O2 Broadband, and 24/7 get 8000-12000kbps with no cap for £10~/pm less. Which takes the piss even more, I guess. It's like living behind the Berlin Wall here in terms of internet speed.

Lite, Mid and Pro are not 'castrated'. Forgetting about your speedtest results, what is your actual throughput speed when doing a http download from somewhere like microsoft?

Shouldn't be slow at this time... you may have some other issue with your computer/line etc..

Just thought I'd update;

I called up soon after reading the (earlier) responses on the thread.  After the standard questions of how many telephone sockets I have at the property, and whether or not I had microfilters in all of them etc, I was put on hold while my line was reset.
The result was that I hit around 8500~kbps, but as of around 23:00 it's down to 6700~kbps

Improvement at least.

Edit: Speedtest,
