I had only been getting 4.8-5.2 max connection speed, so called Tech support, the person was really helpful, he took me through it step by step, he got me to re-organize my set-up, and stayed with me for 20-25 mins to make sure it was OK.
My best thanks to him.

By the way I'm on Karoo Mid at £16.99.

Hi

Is it possible you can explain how you 're-organise' your setup to go from a 5Mb connection, to one over 15Mb? I am guessing other people would like to know how.

Thanks

Presumably they had him capped so as to save bandwidth!

Wrong, it was my set up, which I suspect is the problem with most of the grumbles on here.

I'll try to explain,
My telephone socket is a one side of the room and my computer is at the other side, I had a 3 way adapter on my socket with a phone line to upstairs, a line to a phone at the socket side of the room and a line to my computer phone, that ran around the room,
He had me take everything out of the t/socket, and just put a filter in, then plug the 3 way adapter into the filter then take my router and put it near the socket, then plug the telephone line into the filter, plug my three phones back into the adapter, and run an Ethernet cable around the room, as ethernet cables do not degrade the signal. mine is over 11 metres.
One thing he told me is you only need one filter for the house if you only have one t/socket, one for each phone isn't needed, so I've got 2 spare filters.
My Router sits on the bottom shelf of my bookcase, next to the t/socket.

Ahh ok. I tried my router on the main socket (downstairs) and on the slave upstairs and it didn't seem to make any difference in the line stats. I only have 8Mbps though, and the connection is stable at 8Mbps, throughput at peak however is appauling so don't think me moving anything will help.

You're obviously not on ADSL+2. I thought it was known to most that ADSL+2 is much more stable than the plain ADSL.
Many complainers about slow downloads, seem to be ignorant of the fact that its the site they are downloading from that governs the download speed to a greater degree than Karoo does.
