The last few weeks mine's been really good, Max Option 2:

I'm probably going to be upgrading though as my peak usage is a bit higher than I'd anticipated.

I should say normally my speed is around 4.5mb during the day

Could barely load a website last night let alone stream or download anything.

£30 a month, "best broadband in the country"

Absolutely shocking.

Last night a low bandwidth stream was a bit choppy, but I must say the last week, my Youtube streams have behaved very well compared to the weeks in February where it was impossible to watch.

This is on Karoo Max Option 2.  Karoo tell me that my speeds have improved because they are enforcing the FUP!?  I cannot see suddenly all these users decided to drop their downloading.

My download is 0.20meg tonight. Can barely talk on MSN. What is going on?

Changed over to ADSL2+ on Wednesday, and so far I'm quite happy with it.

Was on one of the old Max packages (option 2 I think..., 20Gig Peak) - was only getting between 0.8 and 1.3Mb/s at best; the main reason I moved over.

Only thing I've noticed with ADSL2+ is that my router, a Linksys WAG354G v.2, takes longer to sync up than on the old package. Don't know if this is a peculiarity of ADSL2+ or my old router?

I thought ADSL2 is for over 8meg? You should get same speed on new OR old package.

ADSL+2 is over 8 max,
Max for my area, according to Karoo check is 17.4, I know I'll never get that, but quite satified with what I get according to conditions.
On Karoo Mid £16.99

I signed up for more info on Karoo Mid 2 but now the Max is behaving, i'm tempted to stay as I am more likely to use 30GB in a month than I am 30GB in peak hours, and in my area I wont see a speed gain anyway.

If I can keep within my peak limit I'll be staying on Max Option 2.

Depending on the line the sync speeds may be the same, but usually higher regardless.

Throughput on the new packages is going to be always higher, especially in peak times.

On the old Max option 2, I was training up at 8Mbit, the expected on KC's web site for this was supposed to be around 6Mbit where I live. When I moved to ADSL2+ KC web site predicted I'd train up at about 8Mbit and that exactly what I'm running at now.

However that's only the speed that your syncing up to the hardware in the exchange, when you factor in the traffic shaping for the package you are on and the amount of bandwidth available to everyone using KC's internet service then you will probably get a lower speed on your actual downloads than you sync speed.

And another check 12 hours later, hardly pathetic. Cool
