Broadcom chipset for DSLAM
MRV for etherlines (leased lines)
Nortel for VoIP
Fujitsu for SMB PABX
Marconi SoftSwitch for unified communications

Could anyone add to this list?

Ahh I See interesting list of vendors in my opinion.

How come there isnt any Cisco stuff in there ? for example for the main service access you could you 3550 switches with 48 ports (with implemented security of course), would this give you more throughput on on your main infrastructure networks and added security as it is a layer 2/3 model switch. Just using the 3550 as an example ?

ALSO how are Karoo carrying out their traffic shaping ?

I want to know cause I haven't come across any traffic shaping in my studies (well not much) wondered what software is used .. would be fun to run on my Lab Network. I Know that shaping isnt necessarily done in hardware. Are you doing it through a Proxy server KAroo or is it a licensed piece of software ?

It's beacuse KC managers are a bunch of no hopers who are too tight with their money to buy good gear.
