We are pleased to tell you that following extensive review of your feedback and ideas, we are set to re-launch our range of Karoo broadband packages in late February to better meet your internet needs.

From Monday 22 February, you will be able to choose from six high speed broadband packages providing a wider range of price and usage choices.

Not only have we increased the usage allowances on our existing Lite, Mid and Pro packages at no additional cost to customers, we are also introducing three new options to help bridge the gap between our most popular packages, Mid and Pro.

The new range looks like this:

Karoo Lite – increased from 2GB to 5GB per month
Karoo Mid 1 – increased from 10GB to 20GB per month
NEW Karoo Mid 2 – 30GB per month
NEW Karoo Mid 3 – 50GB per month
Karoo Pro 1 – increased from 75GB to 100GB per month including unlimited overnight usage
NEW Karoo Pro 2 – 150GB per month including unlimited overnight usage

We’ve recognised that the way in which we use the internet has changed dramatically in recent years and we hope these changes better reflect the different demands from our customers.

You can register for the new packages now – simply complete our web form at www.karoo.co.uk/upgrade  and our Customer Services team will contact you shortly after the new packages are available after 22 February.

Thanks
Karoo

Thanks for listening to your customers Smiley
Do you have any news on pricing (if we want to move upwards)?

<UPDATED>
Ignore me, I have just seen this thread..
Thanks.
<Dyls, no worries - I merged the threads so all info on this is here now.>

No probs - we purposely left the prices off the statement, not to be conspicuous but to keep it as clear as possible to read. All prices are available on the upgrade form online. Hope this is all clear  Smiley

Just to clarify that customers on existing Lite, Mid and Pro packages don't need to reapply for the additional usage - it will automatically update when the new packages come into place.

Also, many customers on old legacy packages will be mailed in the coming weeks to give more detail.

Thanks

Hi, are there any changes to the packages in terms of features or is it all about the bandwidth and prices? Also are there any changes the traffic management on the packages?

thanks,

There is no charge for moving to our new packages, even if the package is cheaper – this is part of our ‘downgrade fee amnesty’ to help you get onto the right package for your needs. We'll also provide a new router if your current hardware isn’t capable of delivering ADSL2+ services (a new 12 month contract and £5 delivery fee applies). If you are moving to Karoo Lite set-up and equipment fees will apply.

Changes refer to usage and new package prices - no changes to any other features.

Thanks

Excellent packages, really listened to customers feedback.

Must be kicking them selves for ever releasing the old max packages, people still see them as a better deal being unlimited - even though the performance was terrible and they were far to cheap to be sustainable.

If I upgrade from Pro 1 to Pro 2 will it start another 12 month contract?

No, if you don't take the router. If you do we will need to put you onto a new contract  Smiley

You can't expect them to offer unlimited packages any more though, doubt they make money from the majority of max option 1 or 2 customers.

The only package I can really see missing would be one other than Pro with unlimited overnight - but that would be no good from Karoo's point of view as they wouldn't get enough people on the most expensive packages.

Hopefully by getting more people onto these packages, they will have the money to spend on more bandwidth. Doubt they would want to add more bandwidth without some way of recouping the cost.

This is a fantastic step for Karoo to take, listening to customer feedback - just goes to show that in Hull if enough of us express our views our ISP will listen, unlike outside the Hull area. It's about time Karoo started turning this around from the perceived monopoly into Hull being the envy of the country.

I sincerely hope Karoo will continue with this new refreshing stance to customer feedback and opinion, we pay their wages at the end of the day - they should listen!!
