FibreStream and a representative of the local legal community joined a private meeting with OFCOM on Friday 18th September 2009, at the instigation and invitation of Hull North MP, Diana Johnson.

I think we need Hull Council to invest some money to enable the services that other providers expect, WLR3, LLU and then open a dialogue with the major networks to request there service to come to Hull and work with KCOM the same way that they work with BT.

Yawn... I'm not trying to be hostile mate but we do get a bit fed up of people suggesting that they represent a new alternative that never materialises (especially when they are posting a message from a Karoo ADSL IP address like yourself).

I can tell you now that wimax is very expensive and fibre stream has a costly install fee, So does the other alternative quickline Quickline is £295 install and £25 per month for a 2Mbps connection not worth it

There is an alternative been tested and will be a lot cheaper in hull which I am involved in, I cannot release any details YET but soon as I can, I will let you all know but the first area after the tests is likely to be Hessle

Don't really want to get peoples hopes up, But the tests are going quite well a few problems but nothing major all I can say is it a wireless service so no need for a telephone line

Obviously Alan Johnson doesn't give a monkeys and will probably be on his way out. I'm going to get onto the Lib Dem candidate to find out his opinion.

Thats because I was posting from home not the office that is connected upto it

But I will post details when its ready to roll for residential customers at the moment it is been tested at student accommodation and a few businesses

Soon see if this is another tumble weed or not - after the amount of messing around with these wireless/wimax companies I doubt anyone on here can be bothered with them. Roll on LLU or KC wholesale fixed line ISP, which doesn't have silly prices.

First post on here.. I'm working with Moiri on this project. We are all in this for the long haul, we have been working on our solution for a considerable amount of time to ensure that it is 100% market ready before we start jumping up and down shouting about it.
Trials are in an extremely advanced stage. Most of our trial installations have changed over from trial to full and are now paying us for our services.
When we feel this service is 100% market ready and covers a vast majority of the city we'll be back here to let you all know.

Welcome to the forums!

I can't help but notice that you're posting from an IP address from a range reserved for DSL lines provided by someone other than KC. Just wondered if you're posting from your wireless network, or if you just happen to be posting from outside of Hull and the IP is a coincidence  

If you are posting from your network, are you using a business DSL line as backhaul for punters? Perhaps you're relaying the DSL connection from BT land over a point to point wireless connection and you're then redistributing in Hull? If so, how are you handling IP address allocation, are you using NAT which will give customers a private IP address or will customers get a real address? Also, what sort of packages will you be offering and what kind of contention will be on them?
