Its a wimax service from quickline?

http://www.quickline.co.uk/Wimax_Coverage_Map.asp

I'm right on the edge of the coverage map though so don't think it would work.

Edit: The transmitters appear to be located located at the BBC and Hull Royal Infirmary

Yeah - its nice to see some wireless ISPs springing up.

It might be an idea for us to put some kind of sticky up with links to these new wireless ISPs up there so people who are using them can comment on service etc.

For all of these kind of wireless services I would imagine it depends on what people are willing to accept as reasonable latency and how many wireless links are between the user and the actual wired backhaul.

just got a 01482 number from www.connexin.co.uk for £5 so people can call me, I don't use the home phone for calling out so that will be all I will ever pay (no line rental!)

also picked up one of these so I can use my normal home phone. http://www.talkip4u.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=26

Can't wait to get my Mobile Point connection now! lets hope the survey goes well next week, otherwise I'll have two home phone numbers!
