Do they charge for the 'survey', as I'm sorely tempted to find the money if they can get a signal and get rid of Karoo.

Do you know where the transmitters are ? and how near you need to be to one,
also with the full package that gives you an 01482 number ,does that mean people in hull will have to ring the full number ie 01482 xxxxxx
or just the 6 digit number.
when its up and running full package that is ,is there  no need for a kc line, phone or internet .so that can be sent back.

Transmitters are located at the BBC and Hull Royal Infirmary.
Full number isnt required, just the 6 digit number. Just like when you want to call a uk number from the uk you don't need 44 at the begining.
Aslong as you are able to recieve it (line of sight) there would be no need for KC anymore.

I would get the standard package (28.50) for 12 months the get your own voip connection for a 01482 number such as below:-

a 01482 number from www.connexin.co.uk for £5 so people can call me, I don't use the home phone for calling out so that will be all I will ever pay (no line rental!) but you can pay per second or even get a call deal with them (still a lot cheaper than KC)

also picked up one of these so I can use my normal home phone. http://www.talkip4u.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=26

I've already set mine up, now I have two phone lines one KC and one VOIP, I've tested it and it works just the same.

Just a pity the mobile point don't have a transmitter in line of site with my house!

just out of interest, whats blocking your line of sight and how far away are you from either the bbc or hospital ?
to put it another way how far from one of these transmitters will the signal travel ,I am hu8 area and believe I should have a pretty good line of sight to the BBC one.

Some one has posted on the Hull Daily Mail site in relation to an artical "Council to challenge BT on broadband" that they are on one point wireless @£28.50 per month and that its fast and reliable.

Could do with some one any one who has it posting their opinions here
