Can't tell you anything about TalkTalk in Hull, but my experience (and that of at least two friends) in Leeds was abysmal. I dumped them within the 1 month cancellation period because they weren't able, not for a single second, to establish the connection. For that month my social life consisted of talking to various unhelpful people in India, sometimes for hours at a stretch. They still charged me the 50 quid cancellation charge and ignored all my contacts to get it refunded. Also, until then I was with BT and I can't remember an occasion when I had a problem with the 'phone. Move to TalkTalk and I had more 'phone problems in that month than I've ever experienced in my whole life.

The experience of two friends, who did manage to get a broadband connection set up with them was that it's ok until there's a problem and then you're pretty much on your own.

TalkTalk? CrapCrap.

Not sure about the offerings in Hull, but it seems abit of a mixed bag, just look over at Think broadband at the TT forums, however a mate in Barton uses them and swears by it..

I did a post code check on virgin broadband, It said it was not possible to get fibre optic but can get phone and broadband down the line. Wonder if this is true, the top package is only £20 a month unlimited....

It's not, it's because there postcode check aswell as many other sites works by.

Check the postcode can it get cable ...
If it can't then it assumes you can get the btw ipstream adsl as 99% of the countries lines can.

I notice a Virgin Media shop in town this morning, it's funny they've got that open in Hull.

I wish as it was the best service that I have ever had, support were a damn nightmare but otherwise very reliable speeds etc.
