Odd really considering when I tried their tester I was getting near maximum speeds all the time, yet other *real* sites crawled... Call me cynical but that makes me suspicious.

Same here, I isntalled the tester, consistently getting 3mbps+ recorded.

Yet I would go to Microsoft, or another site with plenty of bandwidth, and get about 1.5 to 2

A small mention for KCOM in this story - its talking about a takeover bid by Cable & Wireless on Scottish Telco. 'Thus'.

It speculates that having rejected the C&W offer they [Thus] may go on and try to takeover Kcom..
