I was told by karoo, there was no such deals for hull customers at the moment, but they may look into it. As for people in other areas i know two of my neighbours have similar package deals.

Royally shafted as usual for living in Hull... Great.

They aren't able to provide bundle deals at the moment due to OFCOM restrictions but they are trying to get OFCOMs permission to provide them.

Thanks Adrian - that's right. We have formally requested to Ofcom to allow KC to offer bundled telephone and broadbands services following the de-regulation of BT. We are currently in a consultation period with Ofcom and are aiming to have bundled services ready for Autumn, but as the 'timings' are out of our control, we can't give an exact date.

We posted some information on our facebook page some time ago under our discussions forum explaining our position (search Karoo Broadband). We're as keen as you guys to be able to combine these deals to offer more value and direct savings with one bill.

Thanks

That's great, and I'm really glad you're looking into providing the bundles in Hull... It'd be fair, as the local ISP and being such a community oriented player, to not offer bundles at all until your main customer base (Hull) can have them, would you not agree?

Completely agree richardmyers.

We're completely on board with offering bundles and have been for years, but due to our Ofcom regulations haven't been able to offer them. Since BT are now unregulated we have more of a chance...

We'll keep you posted!

More to the point, why are you offering it to other customers (in BT land) if your main customer based can't have it yet?

I think it's because Karoo have significant market power in Hull but they don't in Driffield (because it's in BT land). Therefore Ofcom (and lets hope this new govt. scrap 'em!) have decided in their wisdom that Karoo shouldn't be allowed to offer bundle deals in Hull because they have so much power here, it might discourage competition if they offered bundled telephone/Internet packages.

Dylan is right - regulation allows to offer bundles in Driffield (or any area where we don't have significant market power) unlike Hull at the moment. As we said, we really hope to be able to offer bundles latyer this year pending the Ofcom ruling.

Because the bandwidth is limited, and latency is awful for anyone who wants to use online gaming, or latency dependant service.

I use my mobile BB as a backup and while it works, its only 500Mb per month which would be eaten quickly, I would not want to use it as a main broadband service.

Karoo.

Ethically/morally though you could make a standpoint and NOT offer them in that area given your main customer base CAN'T receive them... Come on Karoo.
