Soft launch of NextGenUs NGA service in Hull and surrounding.
Areas Covered

BLUE  Upto 30Mbps +
Green Upto 20Mbps +
Yellow Upto 10Mbps+

This service area and speed will improve as more clients join the network
Three packages built around total cost of ownership:

Just to clarify, the differences in monthly prices are not related to the potential connection speeds.
They are to allow people to offset their install fees against their monthly spend.

12 Month Contract

£199.95 Installation and £23.50 per month Inc Vat
£249.95 Installation and £15 per month Inc Vat
£299.95 Installation and £8.50 per month Inc Vat

End of first year’s contract we expect monthly costs to be circa £12.95 per month

No bandwidth limits but fair usage policy applies via priority routing tables. The more you use the service the less priority you have over other users this is based on a 24 hour period.

We don’t shape unless the amount of bandwidth available to all users becomes contended. When this happens, shaping is applied to users proportionally with the highest level of shaping effecting the user with the highest consumption and applying the lowest level of shaping to the user with the lowest consumption.

The service is also available in Holderness

Contract length is 12 months

As for SLA it will be best endeavours but we hope to resolve most faults within 48 hours.

No download limits but as mentioned we will lower the routeing priority on a consumption basis over a 24 hour period.
For example if you have consumed 4 Gig in a day you speed will be the first to suffer during times of congestion.

Maximum speeds attained by test clients have exceeded 50mbps.

Fair use is very simple if you’re greedy and impact on other clients then you will be backed off till the network clears for a 24 hour penalty period.

Speeds in outreach areas:
Anlaby town centre  27Mbps Download 16mbps Upload
Morrison’s Beverley 18Mbps Download 12mbps Upload
Stone Creek Holderness 23Mbps Download 13 Mbps Upload

This is a near symmetrical service

Have I got this right then?

You don't shape unless the amount of bandwidth available to all users becomes contended. When this happens, shaping is applied to users proportionally with the highest level of shaping effecting the user with the highest consumption (in the previous 24 hours) and applying the lowest level of shaping to the user with the lowest consumption.

Dylan:
Correct

Bobthebuilder: the speeds are dependent on signal propagation if you get a 60mbps service then lucky you we won’t install a service with less than 10mbps.

If your service speed  is less than 10mbps we won’t complete the installation until the network can support you location.

Sorry we cannot state you’re backed off restriction as this is dependent on network congestion not a hard limits

Hmmm, so for 24 hours (in theory) I could have a dialup speed connection if I download more than 4GB in a 24 hour period... Dang.
