A load of dummy user accounts have now been deleted from the forum. Most of these were accounts that had never posted here, but linked to another website for the purposes of link spamming.

It's really difficult to stop people registering for spam purposes to be honest. New registrations require the user to complete a 'reCAPTCHA' question, but this only stops bots and not people.

The only thing I could do would be to prevent people from having forum signatures and web addresses and that would suck, or require a certain number of posts to be made before the option can be 'switched on' (but that requires me to change the way we're already set up and that sucks too!).

US, asia, all over really. We could I suppose black list all non UK addresses but then (unless we add exclusions to that list) we block the search engines too.
